A Teeny Tiny Time Machine
In August/September 2007, I created a 50-copy edition of The Tremendous Adventures and the Mighty Deeds, Rise, Downfall, Life and Death of A. Jacks,
a tiny story written (we think) by Henry Faxon in 1853. This text was
rediscovered and edited by Jesse Glass, and the mini-chap contains a
biographical note and comment that Jesse wrote regarding Faxon and the
text. I hope this will be the first in a series of tiny books which
take up rediscovered/revisited texts from the past.
The story begins, "It was night nowhere and nowhere was as dark as a
bottle of ink in the bottom of a well..." Don't you want to know what
happens to Mr. Jacks? As Jesse says, this text "is a prime example of
American absurdist literature, penned by a long-forgotten ante-bellum
writer well before the birth of Alfred Jarry."
Here's a scan of the front cover, which features a little print I made...

By the time you read this, I will probably be out of the edition of
this book with the covers with my nifty print on them, but email me
if you're interested in this book because it is rather a rare little
text, and I can send you a copy without the covers. I'm also happy to
learn about
your ideas for other texts from the past which would make good tiny
books, of course.
