Most recently, I've been writing poems about bees. A few of those poems are here at Softblow.

Some of the poems from Postcards to Box 464 (Bootstrap, 2010) appear in the following online magazines: 42opus (here and here), Right Hand Pointing, Shampoo, and Snorkel. I posted a few scans of the original postcards that gave me the idea to write this book over at flickr. Each poem in the book takes on the voice of a particular correspondent from a collection of postcards dating from the 1930s to 1980s which I inherited in 2004 from some longtime family friends.

Poems from my chapbook, I Meant to Say (overhere, 2007), are available in Right Hand Pointing (here, here, and here), and Shampoo. The poems in this series are inspired by personal ads posted in the "missed connections" section of craigslist communities from different cities. My chapbook, Take It, is based on material from craigslist as well--specifically, ads for "free stuff." Thanks to e-publisher Lars Palm, you can download the complete text of Take It for free as a PDF file from Ungovernable Press. A handful of these poems had been previously published in Pinstripe Fedora.

I've written a series of poems which begin with text drawn largely from "women's magazines" from 1943. NAP magazine published a sequence of 37 of these poems as a chapbook called Vital to Victory. Some of these poems appear in 42opus (and here), elimae, Eratio, listenlightOtoliths, past simple (there's also a link at past simple to an audio file of me reading three poems), and Sawbuck. You can find 1 2 3 4 5 of these poems in No Tell Motel. Gilad Elbom published a selection of these poems in Kitchen Tidbits, a chapbook from Sacrifice Press.

For a few years, I've also been working on a series poems which draw from a range of texts (including some autobiographical ones of my own) about the lives of queer women. One of those poems appears in Hobble Creek Review, another in Media Cake, two in elimae, three in Salt River Review, and 1 2 3 4 in Two Hawks Quarterly

A few poems from another series are also online, these being inspired by some old gossipy/trashy magazines I picked up on eBay. See In Times of Trouble and More and New Comics and Novelties in Robot Melon, and three more poems in The Bathroom (PDF file available to download).

I have poems here and there in several other places on the web, and here they are, alphabetically by title: Admit One, And Thinkin' and Prayin', ClinicalEconomy of Movement, Getting to Know You, Grade, Living Room, November Afternoon, Nostalgia, Out to Dinner (pdf file), Recommended Reading (plus one!), and Sundays.

I can be heard reading my poem "Fortune" on this National Council of Teachers of English page for National Poetry Month, and my poem "Old Age" in an issue of the audio mag, i-outlaw.

Eileen Tabios invited me to appear in a special issue of Otoliths featuring poets/editors; check out this page for two of my poems and a little paragraph with my thoughts on editing/publishing. Here's a profile/interview of me and one of my poems, thanks to Katie Haegele.

You might also check out my my poetry blog, where (now and then) I post brand-new work.

Thanks for reading this page and my poems!
